Care Card
Routine care notes for Epson graphic-arts equipment, covering the checks print teams do between jobs and media changes.
Checks to record before booking
The Care Card page sets out routine care points for Epson graphic-arts equipment. It covers the checks print teams normally do between jobs and after media changes to keep output stable.
Use the Care Card to note the printer model, loaded media, ink set and the exact symptom seen on the last job. Teams in Gauteng and Cape Town can also capture room conditions that affect output, such as dust, coastal moisture, heater settings or a recent power loss.
Add clear photos of the control panel, nozzle pattern, media path and any visible marks on the print. Those images, together with the card entries, help separate a head-cleaning issue from feed alignment, strike marks or handling damage after a media change.
Information that belongs on the card
Record what was checked before the unit is inspected, including nozzle checks, platen cleaning, wiper condition and media profile used. Include roll width, laminate status if relevant, and whether the fault appears on one file, one queue or every print sent to the Epson device.
Before using the contact form, complete the Care Card with the serial number, ink channels affected and the steps the operator has tried. Attach site photos that show the current setup, and link the card to any matching workflow note so the fault history stays with the same machine record.
- Nozzle check result logged and dated
- Media type and profile written down
- Site photos attached with fault notes
Conditions that affect Epson output
Highveld dust can build up around sensors, covers and feed areas, while Cape Town moisture can change how certain media behaves during loading and printing. The Care Card gives operators one place to note these conditions next to the print fault, instead of relying on memory from the previous shift.
If load shedding, a breaker trip or an interrupted clean cycle happened before the fault appeared, write that on the card. Also note whether the machine is in daily production, idle between runs, or used mainly for colour-critical graphic-arts work where repeatability matters.
Operated by Astros Marketing (Pty) Ltd from 2 Makro Place, Sunnyrock 1401.
Use the card with workflow notes
Use the Care Card to log the Epson model, fault symptoms, media in use, ink set, site photos and the checks already done before the unit is booked in or inspected.
Complete the Care Card on the same day the issue is seen, especially after a media swap, head clean or profile change. When a job file, substrate sheet and Care Card travel together, the print team has a tighter record of what the Epson unit was doing at the time of the fault.
